Diversity Networks: Building Communities that Leave No One Behind

We have six senior leader-sponsored Diversity Networks that act as an internal support system. They contribute to the business by attracting and retaining employees, offering unique customer perspectives and by educating others about diverse cultures and ideas. Below is a list and description of each of our Diversity Networks.

Whirlpool African American Network (WAAN)

Since 1998, this network has devoted itself to the personal and professional support of all African American employees at Whirlpool. WAAN has driven developmental opportunities that enhance leadership while encouraging volunteerism. WAAN welcomes all Whirlpool employees to learn, experience, and become involved.

Native American Network (NAN)

One Earth. One Family. One Spirit. These words inspire the Native American Network to educate Whirlpool about Native American cultures, contributions, and barriers. Members of NAN promote development of Native American Indians through personal and professional development and mentoring. Members also support the community by actively sponsoring and participating in Native American Housing initiatives.

Whirlpool Asian Community (WAC)

The Whirlpool Asian Community has a passion for the past while supporting the future of Asians at Whirlpool. Through nurturing a robust support community, establishing networking opportunities, and providing a mentoring program, WAC acts as a connection between Asian Pacific workers and the global Whirlpool community. WAC also sponsors educational events such as National Asian Pacific Appreciation month, a Winter Holiday celebration, and Culture and Language workshops.

Whirlpool Hispanic Network (WHN)

The Whirlpool Hispanic Network initiates a variety of awareness-building activities around Hispanics' contributions to Whirlpool. These activities involve regular business-related discussions, National Hispanic Heritage Recognition events, the Annual Latin Festival and a Migrant Family project. WHN supports Whirlpool's Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and strives to contribute to Whirlpool's ongoing diversity goals. To assist Whirlpool in its business goals, members of WHN teach Spanish language classes for Whirlpool employees.

Whirlpool Pride Community (WPC)

Whirlpool's Pride Community works hard to create an inclusive environment that encourages gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees to be themselves and to participate with equality and dignity in the work environment. WPC leads the way with activities that include open meetings for all employees and offsite social and Gay Pride Month events.

Women's Network (TWN)

Every Woman...Enable, Effective, Empowered. Guided by this vision, The Women's Network acts as a catalyst for women to have their voices heard, grow as leaders and realize their potential at Whirlpool. TWN promotes many female-centric activities and awareness opportunities such as Women's History Month, Breast Cancer Awareness and panel discussions.
