The Whirlpool BUILD Emerging Leaders Program is an immersive learning experience for current sophomores that takes place virtually throughout the summer, culminating in a 3-day in-person all-expenses-paid career trek to our Global Headquarters.

Program Requirements
Overview
Location: Hybrid (virtual and in-person)
Dates: Students will take part in virtual workshops and networking sessions Spring 2023. A 3-day in-person Career Trek will take place at our Global Headquarters the week of July 17, 2023. Note: you may need to account for a couple travel days depending on your distance from Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Price: FREE! Whirlpool Corporation will cover your flight, onsite transportation, hotel accomodations, and meals for the 3-day in-person career trek in July.
Credits: This experience is not for credit

Eligibility
Be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident
Class Standing: Current sophomore pursuing a bachelor’s degree, with 2 years remaining before graduation. The BUILD externship aims to expose historically underrepresented students pursuing engineering, finance, HR, information systems, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and supply chain majors to career opportunities at Whirlpool. Students from all schools, and students who identify with a group that is historically underrepresented, including but not limited to Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, American Indian, students with disabilities, and veterans, are encouraged to apply.
Minimum GPA: 2.8
Where You’ll Stay
Students will stay at a hotel conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Saint Joseph, Michigan. Learn more about the area here.
